Grounding Required

Recently, I took an important exam. The results of this test held some significance due to the fact that passing the exam could highly influence my career. I was quite confident going into the testing area.  I completed the exam within the designated timeframe.

Upon finishing the test, I was quite certain that I had done well. With a little extra spring-in-my-step, I drove to my Aunt and Uncle’s house to share the good news. With both in attendance, listening to my recap of the examination, my Aunt sensed my confidence and asked if I had Aced the exam? Still feeling a bit puffed up by my belief in doing well on the test, I proudly said, “Why, yes, I believe I did.” Without missing a beat, my Aunt responded,” Oh, simple was it?”

After picking my jaw up off the floor and standing there totally dumbfounded, we all broke into belly-jiggling laughter! My Aunt gave me a big hug and attempted a weak apology through the stuttering and stammering of her explanation of what she had really meant.  This just made all of us laugh even more.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“When you begin to get a little too full of yourself, I hope you have someone who joyful brings you back down to earth.” tc

Ascending into Divinity

There are seven states of consciousness that exist within each person. These seven states of consciousness influence a person throughout their whole life. I feel that people gain a healthy mental state, by being aware of and opening to the seven states of human consciousness. They are:

1. Body – awareness of self, responsiveness to environment.

2. Fantasy – dream-like state where creative imagination and make believe mix. Absorbed in this state to the exclusion of full Body consciousness. Ex: Athlete’s flow, child’s play

3. Sleep – archetypal symbols and images create potential in people

4. Dark – state where negative energy thrives. Useful to bring awareness to harmful behavior or express evilness.

5. Induced – wherein an external stimulate such as drugs or alcohol alter a person’s conscious state

6. Meditative – relaxed mental state where a person can reach a deeper opening in their mental capacity that will expand awareness and compassion.

7. Universal – union of the mind with a higher spiritual power and sacred wisdom. The illusionary sense of life is removed and Truth or Enlightenment is fully realized.

These states are not limited to developmental or age-related stages of awareness or consciousness because these states are inherent conscious abilities that are built-in to a person’s mental design. Oftentimes, a child is observed in various states of consciousness that an adult has been conditioned to repress.

The degree within each level of consciousness fluctuates from person to person and from situation to situation. These levels are not static. A person may move into deeper or lighter states of consciousness. Not everyone will experience all seven levels. However, a person may move through one or more levels in a single day.

I feel that each level of consciousness is there to guide a person through the experience of awakening to the richness of life. By opening to these different levels and being present in each one, an individual may move through life more balanced and fulfilled. The first six levels of consciousness provide a path to the ultimate opening into Universal Consciousness.                 (Tree of Life Theory, Teresa Carlson)

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Let your Spirit lead higher into a deeper consciousness, more in tune with the frequency of the Divine.” tc

Love

Love is patient and kind.
Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way.
It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

With all the effort it takes to be patient, kind and undemanding these days, we also have to be aware of being boastful, true and hopeful. Do you find yourself needing to contribute to every story being told? Do you find yourself talking more about yourself, than listening to others? Are you sure that all your needs are met before offering anything to another? Do you secretly keep track of other people’s failures?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you need to know that this is not love! Love does not ridicule, take or hide. Love is open, compassionate and a gift you give to another. Love is not about what you receive, it is about what you give!
Love is the only thing standing strong when everything else has fallen.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Love is the Light shining through Hope.” tc

License to Kill

Mother Earth is our home. She has given us pure water to drink, fresh air to breath and rich soil, in which to feed us. Regardless of how much we overuse the land, pollute air and waste the water, she continues to try and purify all of it.

She attempts to discipline the children of earth from time to time by earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tidal waves, wind storms and flooding but we just keep on doing what we are doing with little to no regard for the consequences.

Yes, there are consequences! Everything of the earth is organic, perishable material. If you think you can continue to pollute, abuse and overuse the land, then you have permission…..on one condition. When you are able to make soil, produce water and create new air, from scratch, that will take care of billions of people, and maintain the delicate balance of mother nature; then there will be less of a need to be conservative with our limited natural resources!

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“When you can co-create from nothing, then you can act like God.” tc

Fire Inside

I heard this quote the other day and found it interesting to think about.

“When there is a fire some people bring wood, while others bring water.”

When I look back on my life, I can clearly see the times when I brought wood and contributed to the blazing fires around me. On some occasions, I even built the fire and invited others to throw some gasoline on it. Many of these events took place in my youth. I thought I knew so much, was right about most things and was invincible.

Then, life decided to teach me a few lessons. As I matured, I found myself beginning to lay the logs down and I began picking up buckets of water, instead. I discovered that it took a lot of energy to keep certain fires burning and I was becoming busy with other things in my life.

Now, I carry extra water in my truck and put out fires wherever I go. I realize that the benefit of fire is so limited in life and few know how to use fire effectively to accomplish anything in a positive manner, so it is much better to put the fires out, rather than try to manage an already explosive situation.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“I hope you throw water, instead of wood on the fires around you.” tc

Faithful and True

Is it any wonder why dogs have become Mankind’s best friend? They are obedient, loving, forgiving, protective, loyal, kind, etc.

Dogs can teach us many lessons on how to act, like:

1. Be who are and share love with everyone.

2. Protect what is important but don’t bite, if a growl will do.

3. When you are tired…rest.

4. Never pass up the chance to go for a ride.

5. Enjoy long walks.

6. Be loyal.

7. And, when someone is having a bad day, be there for them.

Whether you have a dog or not, enjoy the ‘philosophy of dogs,’ and have a great day!

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Keep harmful things away from you, run towards love & affection and a good scratch can make everything better.” tc

Lighting the Way

We use words for everything. They describe, state, answer, create and communicate just about everything we need to express. However, there are times in life where words are inadequate for the moment. When those moments appear, what is more important, is our actions.

There are 12 actions that we need to balance for healthy living. They are:

• 1. Keeping Quiet vs. Talking
• 2. Receptivity vs. Resistance to Influence
• 3. Obeying vs. Ruling
• 4. Humility vs. Self-Confidence
• 5. Speed of Thought vs. Circumspection
• 6. Accept Everything vs. Differentiating
• 7. Fight vs. Remaining Peaceful
• 8. Exercising Caution vs. Manifesting Courage
• 9. To Possess Nothing vs. To Command Everything
• 10. To Have No Ties vs. Loyalty
• 11. Contempt for Death vs. Regard for Life
• 12. Indifference vs. Love
(Tree of Life Theory, Teresa Carlson)

Observing these actions and their polar opposite will lead to a person “using them at the right time in the right place.” This is wisdom in action. Therein, resides love, mutual respect, flexibility and balanced living.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“The crowning glory of life is your wisdom in action.” tc

Moving Through the Fog

I have read about the “illusion of life” in many books from a variety of Eastern Philosophies. However, I didn’t get it. How can life be an illusion? We eat, drink, sleep, work, play and live…. right here, right now. Right?

How can everything that I see, hear, feel, smell and touch be an illusion, when my senses reinforce that it exists? Why does my brain continue to tell me I am right, if I am wrong? How can such a crazy idea like this remain in circulation for thousands of years?

Simple. It is a universal Truth. When you wake-up from what you think life is, you will discover that it is an illusion. The ‘devil’ that Jesus battled in the desert was not a physical monster but a series of falsehoods to overcome. Buddha didn’t invent the Noble Eightfold Path to Enlightenment, he recognized the unhealthy behaviors that prevent spiritual growth and practiced them.

The Illusion of Life is about understanding that we are not Physical Beings with a Spirit, rather, we are Immortal Spiritual Beings manifested in Physical Form. Let me say that again, we are not Physical Beings with an Immortal Spirit, we are Immortal Spirits in a physical body.

In the Judeo-Christian faith, the Book of Genesis states that “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them. (Gen 1:27) God created us as a division of the Divine Light, itself. We are a smaller Light of the Creator. We are Spiritual Beings manifested in physical form.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“The Illusion of Life is no longer a mystery when you pass through the veil and the fog lifts.” tc

Autumn Harvest

Today is the first day of the rest of your life!

For people struggling with addictions, the addiction is life. There is no one or no thing more important than satisfying that desire, craving, drive or need. Addicts, as they are called, state that they find pleasure in their addiction but the truth is they are in so much pain that they hide from the truth of their life and practice the mastery of their addiction, instead.

Rather than seeing a person with an addiction as having an “addictive personality” or “a genetic predisposition” towards something, I choose to believe that people, who have addictions, actually have been called by God to fill the hole inside. The only trouble is that they got confused with what God wanted them to fill the hole up with.

Maybe those people who are fraught with an addiction need a new way to perceive it, so they can move beyond it.

For those of you who like to:

...Shop in excess of what you need, maybe you could look for the 1st bargain of the day in the free Light of God isle, instead of on an aluminum rack.

...Talk about everyone, maybe you could try spreading the Word of God, instead of smearing someone else’s name.

...Use harmful chemicals to feel better, maybe you could try trading that temporary high for a spiritual lift that doesn’t have neurotic side effects.

...Fill your lungs with suffocating, black smoke, maybe your first deep inhale of the morning could be from the Breath of Heaven, instead of the toxins of tobacco.

...Eat large portions of food, maybe you could get your fill in the boundless warmth of the Divine’s love, instead of through empty calories.

...Drink excessive amounts of flavored alcohol, maybe you could exchange the buzz of intoxication for the euphoria of Allah.

I know it isn’t easy to alter behaviors as ingrained and powerful as addictions. This blog is not about showing you a step-by-step method in the work of recovery. This blog is about giving you a different way in which to think about what authority you allow to dictate your life!

I think that if you move away from negative labels that hold you back from becoming all that you are capable of becoming, and seek a positive label in love and light, that eventually, you will regain control over your life from the addiction and make a healthier choice to give control of your life to God.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Be careful who you allow to control your life, if it isn’t based in love, lead instead of follow.” tc

Foul Triangle

Leading Duck: “If I maintain this pace, they won’t be able to catch me. Life is great.”

Upper Duck: “Ah, the sky is clear, the water cool and I don’t have a care in the world. Life is great.”

Lower Duck: “Why am I always in the rear? Maybe a big fish will eat one of the other two and I will be in the lead. Then, life will be great. ”

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Which one are you: always trying to stay one step ahead of everyone else, enjoying what you have in the moment or are you never satisfied with what you have or where you are?” tc

Because of You

Do you find yourself thinking or saying things like this a lot:

Gosh, why can’t you ever get it right?
Do I have to do everything around here?
Why can’t you do something?
How many times do I have to ask you to do that?
She/He is so lazy.
They always mess up.

This type of attitude shows a clear mentality of one lacking in taking responsibility. If you find yourself always blaming other people for what is not going right in your life, you need to pause and do a little self-reflection. It is never entirely the other person's fault.

Additionally, no one else is responsible for your life but YOU. If things are not going the way you would like them to go, then change your actions. If people are not living up to your expectations, then you need to change your approach. If the burdens you are carrying are too heavy, then you need to lighten your load.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“If you find yourself always bumping heads with others, maybe you should look at what you need to work on in order to negotiate a compromise.” tc

Lumped Together

It is a wonderful feeling to have a caring family that loves you, encourages your dreams and helps you out when times are tough. It is also great to have a handful of friends to hang out with and share life’s ups & downs with. It is good to belong to a religious organization that teaches you and promotes a growing faith in a Higher Being. It is also fun to belong to a group or organization that supports you and makes you feel right at home.

Have you noticed that the people and groups that you associate with reflect what you believe? You might think that this is a no-brainer! However, when you look at all of those around you, you will see the thoughts, feelings, actions, morals, judgments, and ideals that influence and reinforce YOUR behaviors.

Those same groups and individuals that you connect with, outsiders will assume that you have the similar opinion of and will judge you accordingly. If you do not want to be judged, criticized or associated with a specific clan then you should not put yourself in their company.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Surround yourself with like-minded people because you will become like the ones around you.” tc

Call of the Wild

Hawk is a dynamic, powerful, messenger.

Some of the symbolism associated with hawk is: attention, tremendous vision, power, energy, leadership and focus. Hawk also has the ability to soar above  any threat and see the solution to it from a larger perspective. I see Hawk as a teacher of Divine wisdom. In this way, I feel that Hawk is symbolic of God.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“With open arms, keen vision, intense focus and absolute power, God is ever-watchful over us and patiently waiting for our response to The Call.” tc

Rough Waters or Calm Shores?

Domestic Violence is an ever-increasing problem in our lives today. One of the biggest problems is that people do not recognize the varied forms that domestic violence takes on. One of the most damaging forms of partner abuse is not physical. It is emotional manipulation!

Think about this:
Are you constantly being criticized and yelled at?
Are you to blame for everything that goes wrong?
Are you the target for his/her anger?
Is sexual affection forced upon you or do you feel you are his/her sexual object and not a person?
Is your partner quick tempered, jealous, possessive or overly needy?
Is your access to money limited or controlled by your partner?
Have you been threatened in any way?

Many people today do not recognize spousal/partner abuse, unless it is in the form of physical injury. However, emotional manipulation is definitely abuse. If you have to be so careful to please, be on guard or change your actions due to fear of what your partner will do or say, this is a very unhealthy relationship.

Another aspect to domestic violence in this manner is the cycle that the abuser creates. He/She may act ‘normal,’ kind and ask for forgiveness in between cycles of abuse. He/She may even state that you are the only one who can help them. Staying in this type of relationship is VERY detrimental to your well-being. Even if your abuser does not develop his/her actions into a physical strike, the damage caused by emotional abuse can last a lifetime.

If you find yourself in this situation or believe that you may be acting out this type of behavior, there is help. You can begin by educating yourself. One helpful link providing a stream of information is:

http://helpguide.org/mental/domestic_violence_abuse_types_signs_causes_effects.htm#cycle

There are many counselors, therapists and even religious affiliations that can give you advice and support. Each county has a Social/Human Services office. They can provide protection, money and counseling for those with limited or no income. Please do not think that you are alone or that you have no options. There is always help available, when you are ready to make your move.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“God will guide us to a better place but we are the ones who have to take the action required to get there.” tc

The Sphinx

I feel that this photo depicts the unbalance of the human ego at work today! The lion carved in the rocks represents the Ego. It is looming large in a person’s every day life, while the person is sitting in the shadow of it’s power. This is not balanced or healthy.

The ego is there to give us an understanding of who we are. It is not there to dominate our entire lives. The ego can be used as a tool to access what we need, when we need it, how we can use it, where it is best applied and why it is necessary. However, when the ego has taken over the human aspects of good judgment, moral action, forgiveness, sharing, spiritual attunement and love, it is not healthy. When the ego is in control………there is no need for anyone of anything other than me, myself and I.

The out-of-balance ego is not only the center of the person but it IS the center of their universe.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“When the ego is in balance, the lion does not roar.” tc

Solid Stance

Hidden amongst the weeds and wild flowers and concealed between the waters of life and the tomb of death is a rock. It is not a big rock but it is solid to the core. This rock has been a perch for birds, a warming place for lizards and a seat for the weary traveler.

This rock does not ask for anything for itself, yet continues to provide for others in any way that may suit their needs. One time, this rock sheltered a chickadee from a snake slithering past. In another instance, this rock absorbed the salty tears of a disheartened lover. On still another occasion, this rock provided rest to a dung beetle crawling through the grass.

Although this rock is not flashy, assuming or the most beautiful stone around, it continues to provide for those who choose to receive the wisdom of its gifts.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Be a rock to others who need some grounding.” tc

An Apple a Day...

Eating a balanced diet is very important to one’s overall health. The ‘ol saying of “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” is trying to express good eating habits that we all need to practice.

It is becoming more difficult to intake the necessary vitamins, minerals and nutrients that are required in order to maintain optimal health. Not only does our food have fewer flavors, it does not contain the nutritional value that it once held. Additionally, beef, chicken, pork and other animal meats are filled with hormones, preservatives and pesticides that were ingested, while the animal was alive. Engineered foods are even worse for human consumption.

The Internet is a useful tool that can help you find out what foods are most vulnerable to pesticides. This link is one place to start. If possible, when purchasing fresh fruits and vegetable; try to buy organic.

http://www.thedailygreen.com/healthy-eating/eat-safe/Dirty-Dozen-Foods

With the plethora of tasty junk food (empty nutritional value), even the foods that are good for you have become less desirable due to flavor appeal. Sugar is in everything from toothpaste to cookies. Reducing your sugar intake will actually give you more energy and begin to break your addiction to it.

I do my best to consume very little processed sugar, bleached flour and other known potentially harmful foods. Regardless, the key is moderation in all food consumption.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Balanced nutrition aids in producing a balanced Being.” tc

Courageoous Move

There was a period of time in my life where I was so locked within myself that I could not feel anything. I went about my ‘normal’ activities, worked, took care of children and went to school. However, I felt nothing inside. There was this big hole. It wasn’t empty like many people think. This hole was filled with darkness, coldness, sadness and loneliness. I smiled, laughed and tried to carry on with my expected duties but there was no laughter in my heart or in my eyes.

At that time in my life, I thought it was a sign of strength to show no emotion or very little. I took pride in being able to hide my pain. I thought that if I cried or admitted that my soul was aching, that I would lose my self-control.

Ironically, at that time, everyone and everything else was actually controlling me. My job took up a lot of time. Raising my children as a single mother, filled in any spare time, trying to get an education was squeezed in between everything and then, there were the unexpected fires that seemed to flare up at the very moment when I thought I had some peace. Ugh!

One day, I became so tired of feeling empty, lonely, cold and sad that I decided to take real control of my situation. It was not easy but I had to look at me and my life. What was working? What wasn’t working? What made me happy? What was holding me back from my happiness?

What I learned was that when I took all the reasons, excuses and justifications away, I saw a common denominator…………..FEAR! I was afraid to take any action to change my circumstances because I didn’t know what was going to happen. I felt that by holding onto my present state, although gloomy, that at least I could control it. How silly it seems to me now but at the time, it was all consuming and very distressful.

When you find yourself sick, unhappy and miserable ENOUGH, you will seek out some relief from your suffering. This may take the form of counseling, religious guidance, your father’s advice, a friend or a favorite place in nature to relax. Hopefully, you will not turn to denial, addictions and anger, which is easy to fall in to. What is most important is that you take the first step of Action and seek positive guidance. When you seek to change your life, you must open your mind and heart to the spirit of the messages being given to you. They may come in a very different manner than what you are accustomed to. Remember that God likes to surprise us!

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Courage is being brave enough to move beyond the fear!” tc

Elevated Living

While the country is being preached to of a possible second recession, trillions of dollars in government debt, the continuing war overseas and more natural disasters, we can choose to get caught up in the negative sensationalism portrayed by the media or we can focus on creating something positive in our individual lives.

While all of these events have their significance, we do not need to concentrate on the negative. We need to either help solve the issue, guide those in charge or stay out of it. Everything happens for a reason and perpetuating the problem does not end it.

We have the power to live well regardless of what is transpiring around us. When we live from the inside out, the exterior forces of the world have little to no impact on our lives. At some point, we will all experience a difficult episode but we can choose our reaction to it! We can bounce or we can hit the ground with a splat.

When we select a higher conscious reaction to the surrounding world, we move beyond the judgment of the masses. When we opt for a view from the top, guided by Spirit, we do not get bogged down in the grime of political affairs, religious extremism or media control.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“God’s happiness is all around us. Let your view be sustained from a higher altitude.” tc

Double Trouble

Don’t: Lie, Cheat, Steal, Gossip, Sneak, Deny, Hide, Possess, Compare, Covet, Yell, Brag, Avoid, Use, Abuse, Conspire, Manipulate, Control, Indulge, Argue, Hate and Fear.

All of these behaviors do not end with the initial act. Quite the contrary, they continue to wreak havoc in your life and in your soul for eons of time after the deeds have been done! The worry, confusion, responsibility, guilt and shame resulting from these types of activities will be eating away at your spirit creating all sorts of dis-ease within.

Many of the ills of the body, mind and spirit are manifested from the negative thoughts, actions and feelings of our Being. Examples would be allergies, joint stiffness, cancers, colds, back pain, indigestion, weight problems, rashes, etc. If an illness cannot be traced back to direct contact with a toxin, it most likely is derived from the “Self.” When a person is balanced and healthy, those types of disorders simply do not develop in the physical form.

We do have the ability to manage our own health. By waking up to the power of awareness, responsibility and self-control, we can begin to learn to listen to our bodies and trust our instincts. There is a time and place for doctors, healers, ministers, advisors and the like but they should never supersede your own voice and opinion.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Learn the voice of your body and use moderation to prevent future reoccurring dis-ease.” tc

Celebrate!

Wow! When I saw this cloud explosion, I was electrified! I grabbed my camera and snapped away, hoping to capture the spirit of this wind-blown jewel. It reminded me of God having a party for all the angels, cherubim and other holy spirits of the Light.

I hope that when you see this photograph, it makes you want to party!

Don't forget to click on the photo to enlarge it.

“So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Let the celebration of Life explode from within you, touching all that you encounter with Love.” tc

Cozy Woodland Grove

We all need a sanctuary in order to escape the rigors of daily life. This place may be a church or temple. It may be a small room in your home or it may be a quiet, park-like setting with minimal human traffic. Regardless of where it is, it is important to have a place to go when you need some quiet time.

When we take the time that we need to refresh, rejuvenate and restore our mind, body and spirit, it is amazing to discover a sudden renewal of energy. Religion knew this and set aside one day a week for rest. Employers know this because they offer paid vacation time. Even politicians know that you cannot hammer away at the population without a break!

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Take the time you need to revitalize your being. You are always worth it.” tc

Beauty with a Purpose

I was watching several butterflies today and suddenly, I thought, “What is the purpose of a butterfly?” Do you know? I didn’t, so I did a little research.

Besides being beautiful, a butterfly has an important part to play in the ecology of many life systems. Butterflies pollinate plants, which help fruits, vegetables and flowers to produce new seeds. This is a similar action that bees carry out. Butterflies are also food for birds, mammals and other insects.

Did you know that no two butterflies are exactly the same? Also, butterflies display every color of the rainbow! Here is one more bit of fact for you, butterflies have lived on earth for at least 150 million years and are found everywhere but Antarctica. Not only are they beautiful insects…..they also have an important part in balancing nature.

Everything that the Divine created has a purpose. Four-legged animals, insects, birds, fish and even the trees and vegetation live by instinct or cellular/chemical direction.

Humans are provided instinct and cellular/chemical direction to guide their lives. However, they are also given a complex and powerful tool called a brain. Our brain is the mechanism for our development and growth. This IS the instrument of our co-creation with God.

Through the balancing of our mental (chemical), emotional (instinctual), physical and spiritual aspects, we can possess the Light of God and co-create beautiful things around us. This is the purpose of your life.

So, on that note the quote of the day is:

“Live out your purpose by spreading the Loving Light of God.” tc

Path of the Sun

The Ancient Egyptians believed that the Milky Way was the River of Life. The Milky Way, from the perspective of Earth, is the path of the sun’s motion on the celestial sphere, as we rotate on our axis. This pathway is called the ecliptic. The constellations along the ecliptic, encompass our known 12, plus 2 additional ones. They are: Aquarius, Aries, Cancer, Capricorn, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Pisces, Sagittarius, Scorpius, Taurus and Virgo. The other two constellations along the ecliptic are Orion (the Hunter) and Ophiuchus (the Serpent Handler/Healer).

The Milky Way or River of Life is believed to be the path that the soul/spirit travels as it makes its way through the underworld and into Immortal Life. This powerful river creates many transformations for the spirit along the way. The constellations are mythological stories by many ancient civilizations that, I believe, were created to document the perils and celebrations of the Spirit from darkness into Light!

The Nile River in Egypt and the ancient pyramidal structures alongside it were created to document the celestial heavens above…..So below, on Earth.

The next time you see a beautiful, flowing river, don’t forget to think of the river above your head. Because everything on earth is a microcosm of the heavens above, try to observe your life as a mirror of the grand design above you.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“See your life as a river, ever flowing, ever creating and forever one with the All.” tc

An Artist's Hands

Have you ever watched an artist paint? The fluid motion of their hands as they move over the canvas, magically, draws out a stunning picture from the bland background creating a true work of art.

Similarly, a skilled doctor can manipulate parts of the outer body by pressing and pulling with their hands and fingers to help heal a person, astonishingly, without ever seeing the inner-dynamics that need care.

The knowing hands of a trained mechanic, tinkering and fiddling with parts and pieces of an engine is able to incredibly detect and solve problems in a vehicle that oftentimes, lies deep within the undercarriage of an engine.

Whatever your skills and talents are, be proud of what you are able to do. Comparing yourself to anybody else is a waste of time! We are all given different and unique abilities. A Doctor’s skills are of no use when your car breaks down. The understanding of the present governmental laws by a Lawyer is useless when frying chicken for dinner. And, a Therapist’s knowledge of human behavior is inadequate when piloting an airplane. Be proud of what you are able to contribute and help others anytime your gift is needed.

Remember, what you DO is not who you ARE. It is simply your endowment to the universe.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Create something beautiful in your life with the talents that you have been gifted.” tc

Bursting Ahead

Energy bursts. Stars burst. Bubbles burst. Eggs burst. Flames burst. Lightning bursts. Paint bursts. Blossoms burst. Popcorn bursts.

I have noticed that many things around me burst into a new form. They don’t always slowly evolve over a long period of time. It is the intensity and desire of the object or energy form to dynamically, change right before our eyes that is amazing.

When this happens, we are surprised, shocked, elated and taken back by the sudden alteration. However, it is this action that stimulates new motions in the universe to evolve. While it is important for some things to quietly and slowly transform, it is equally necessary for other things to advance more quickly.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Imitate your environment and burst ahead with enthusiasm.” tc

Home Bound

I have blogged a few times in the past about the feeling of home and where we make it. Today, I want to touch on the symbolic meaning of HOME.

When we dream of a house, camper, apartment or any place that signifies our home, we are dreaming about our self, our inner home. Our home is where we reap the rewards of our work. Our home is our safe-haven from the big world. Our home is where our love blossoms. Our home is where God lives. Our home is where the healing begins.

If your ‘home’ is cluttered in your dreams, this is symbolic of needing to clean some things up in your life. This symbolic, internal view allows for the declutterization of your being. As you start physically cleaning out your ‘home,’ spiritually, clarity and peace will begin to manifest in your life.

If your ‘home’ is full of people, maybe there are too many activities drawing on your energy reserve. If your ‘home’ is dark, you may need to open the curtain and let some light in. Whatever the state of your home is in your dreams, it mirrors your state of being.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“If your external home is not the nest that you anticipated it to be, maybe you should begin to simplify your home on the inside.” tc

Divine Love

Everywhere I turn in nature lately, I have been finding hearts! It is so fun to see where I am going to discover the next one.

I have found them molded into rocks, shaped in leaves, carved by erosion, formed by twigs, blown by the wind in clouds and created by growth lines in tree stumps.

God is showing all of us that The Light is surrounding each one of us on so many levels, if we slow down long enough to pay attention.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Love encompasses each of us and shines the Light of God into our lives.” tc

Autumn is in the Air

I enjoy summertime but when the nights begin to shorten and the air cools, I know that my favorite season is soon to arrive. Every season has its beauty, fun and reason. Winter is symbolic of rest, hibernation and planning. Spring is symbolic of new life, growth and potential. Summer is about energy, development and nurturing. Autumn is about harvest, fruitfulness and abundance.

As we enter the autumn of our activities, I hope that you are able to see, hear, feel and smell the fruits of your efforts. Whether you have been working in the garden, building a new deck, learning a new skill or growing in your faith, this is a good time to review just how far you have come.

We all need markers along our journey to point out our advancements, or lack thereof in our progress. Autumn is a great time to think about any changes that we need to make in order to obtain the goal of our desire or to see if what we are striving for is no longer healthy for our life.

As the school buses begin to roll through the neighborhoods and the pumpkins ripen on the vine, take a minute to assess where you are in your journey. Know that wherever you find yourself at this moment, it is exactly where you need to be in order to move ahead.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“Begin today.” tc

Just Like You

You’ve heard of the ‘ol saying of “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” right? As a teenager, I denied the accuracy of this statement, emphatically. However, as an adult, I cherish the similarities that can be observed relating to my Mother and Dad.

I learned how to do things, what to say, how to act, what is important, what to believe, why this over that and what not to do…..from my parents.

This month, my Mother and Dad will be celebrating their 46th wedding anniversary, a pure miracle in today’s society for longevity and love. I thought I would take this blog to honor them both.

Mother-
I was quiet as a child….just like you.
I found my voice as a mother….just like you.
I care about the well-being of others….just like you.
I believe in One Almighty God….just like you.
I worked hard to educate myself…just like you.
I am strong and independent, yet bound by love….just like you.
I am beautiful inside and out…..just like you.

Dad-
I struggled in my youth to show emotions….just like you.
I am a student of life….just like you.
I am philosophical….just like you.
I laugh while trying to tell a joke…just like you.
I found true faith in God…just like you.
I love to share my gifts and talents with others….just like you.
I am beautiful inside and out….just like you.

Thank you for being a fruitful tree for my life. Not every branch that I have spouted has produced gold-medal apples but the nurturing and light from your roots has nourished a healthy forest for my future.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“I love you, Mother and Dad.” tc
