It's All in the Details

How do YOU describe Compassion?

Is it as easy as saying that love is red like a rose? If so, what is the color of Compassion? Is it as obvious as saying that a kitten has soft fur? If so, what texture is Compassion? Is it as easy to value, like saying that the price of a car is 30 Grand? If so, what is the cost of Compassion? Is it as disposable as a plastic bag? If so, what is the long term effect of Compassion?

Doing ‘the Action’ of compassion like serving food to the homeless is healthy and good. However, without ‘the Feeling’ of compassion during the act, there is no connection to the experience. It is just an act of good will. When you are able to feel the experience of your acts, your spirit will expand with fulfillment.

So, on that note, the quote of the day is:

“The color, texture and value of your actions does not even compare to the long term effects of the feeling of your growth.” tc
